Most Austinites are aware that we have a growing job market – but many are wondering where exactly these new jobs are coming from.
Launched in 2003, Opportunity Austin had the goal of adding 72,000 new jobs, and $2.9billion to the regional payroll. Over-achievers as we are, the project ended up adding 104,000 jobs, and $4.5billion in payroll. This new phase hopes to add 117,000 jobs and $10.8billion over the next five years.
